The Inventors Associations of Australia are not-for-profit organisations. There is an active Inventors Association in every state in Australia (except Tasmania) that will welcome you. For a full list, please see the "Affiliated Associations" section listed in the navigation menu above.

The efforts of the individual state associations are coordinated through the Inventors Association of Australia (Federal) Inc.  The State Associations are independent bodies with complete control of their own finances, memberships and the election of their office bearers.

Membership in an Inventors Association offers you personal contact with other inventors and service providers who have “been there and done that.” This networking happens in a friendly, confidential atmosphere.

The Inventors Associations welcome all sorts of inventors including creative thinkers, hobbyists, career professionals and entrepreneurs. Personality types can range from the serious professional to the eccentric, however, most members are concerned with the serious and professional advancement of their ideas.

No matter what stage you have reached with your invention and no matter your background, you will find others within an inventors association with whom you can relate.

The Inventors Associations are here to:

• Guide and assist inventors to develop, protect and commercialise their inventions,
• Help inventors to avoid some of the unnecessary costs and pitfalls associated with development,
• Help inventors avoid unscrupulous and/or dishonest invention promoting companies, and
• Provide contact with corporate members and other companies who can assist you to turn your invention into a viable product.
